Who is eligible for an SPC membership?

If you're a student navigating classes and assignments, you're in! If you are at least 13 years old and currently enrolled as a student, you're good to grab a membership and start saving.
How exactly does the SPC program work?

It's super simple. Just show your digital card in the SPC app when checking out in-store or use our exclusive promo codes and links in the app or website to get your discounts when shopping online.
Where can I purchase an SPC membership?

You can lock in your membership straight from your phone on spccard.ca or the SPC app. If you prefer doing things IRL, you can also buy one at participating retail stores or right on campus through select schools.
Does the membership I bought online renew automatically for the upcoming year?

Yes, if you buy online or through the app, we keep the savings rolling with auto-renew so you never miss a deal. If you bought your card at a store or school, it won't auto-renew unless you manually toggle that on in your profile.
Do I need to be a full-time student to qualify for SPC membership?

Nope, we don't gatekeep savings. Whether you're full-time or taking classes part-time, if you're a student, you qualify for the discounts.
Is there an age limit to use SPC?

You just need to be at least 13 years old.
Membership & Account Management
How long is my SPC membership valid?

Your membership is good for exactly one full year from the day you buy it. That's 365 days of straight savings.
How much does an SPC membership cost?

It's just $11.99 per year (plus tax). It basically pays for itself after your first couple of shopping trips or takeout orders.
How do I update my SPC profile information?

Open the SPC app or head to spccard.ca, log in, and click your profile settings. From there, you can swap out your details and keep everything current.
I forgot my SPC account password. How do I reset it?

It happens to the best of us! Just tap 'Forgot Password' on the login screen, drop in your email, and we'll send you a link to get you back into your account.
How do I cancel my SPC membership?

To cancel, go into billing section of your profile and hit 'cancel subscription'. You'll still get to keep using your discounts until your current one-year billing cycle wraps up.
How do I permanently delete my SPC account?

If you want to remove your info completely, you can request a permanent account deletion right from the profile settings in the SPC app or website.
SPC Card Activation (In-Store & School Purchases)
How do I activate a membership bought at a retail store or through my school?

Got a physical membership code? Head over to the activation page or open the app, log in (or create an account), and enter that 16-digit code to unlock your digital card.
How do I renew my membership bought offline for the upcoming year?

Keep the deals coming by logging into your profile, dropping in a payment method, and turning on auto-renew. Or, when your current year is up, just buy a new membership online.
Do I need the physical card I bought at a retail store to redeem in-store discounts?

Nope, you can leave that at home. Once you activate your code online, your digital card lives safely in the SPC app, ready to be scanned at checkout.
SPC+ (Free with CIBC)
What is SPC+ and how is it different from a regular SPC membership?
+
Think of SPC+ as the VIP section. It gives you access to even bigger discounts, exclusive giveaways, and special events - and the best part is it's completely free for eligible CIBC clients.
How do I get a free SPC+ membership through CIBC?
+
Head over to spccard.ca/cibc and create a free SPC account so you can register for SPC+. After creating your free SPC account, you can either open a new CIBC student account to become eligible, or, if you already have one, simply use your existing CIBC student account for verification by logging into your online banking to confirm your free SPC+ membership.
I am a CIBC client, but my SPC+ activation isn't working. How do I fix this?

We can sort it out. Just send a quick email to questions@spccard.ca and our support team will get your SPC+ access up and running.
Do I need to renew my SPC+ membership every year?

Good news: If your eligible CIBC account is active and in good standing, your SPC+ membership auto-renews for free.
What happens to my SPC+ membership if I close my CIBC account?

If you close your CIBC account, your free SPC+ access will say goodbye and deactivate. But you can always just grab a standard SPC membership to keep securing those discounts.
Apple & Google Play Subscriptions
How do I manage or cancel a membership purchased directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store?

If you bought it through the app stores, you must manage it there. Head into your phone's Apple ID settings or Google Play subscription settings to make any changes or cancel.
When does my app subscription automatically renew?

It renews exactly one year from the day you originally hit subscribe.
How do I turn off auto-renewal for memberships purchased in the app?

Go to subscription settings on your phone (either Apple or Google Play) and hit cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date so you don't get charged.
I uninstalled the app. Does that cancel my billing?

Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription - you'll still get billed! You need to go into your app store settings or your SPC web profile to officially cancel.
How do I request a refund for a charge made through Apple or Google?

Apple handles all the billing for iOS, so you'll need to contact Apple Support directly for a refund. If you're on Android or bought via the web, shoot us an email at questions@spccard.ca and we'll investigate it for you.
Shopping: Online & In-Store
Where can I find a full list of brands that offer SPC discounts?

We're always adding new spots. You can scroll through the entire list of our brand partners and check out the latest offers directly in the SPC app or on student deals page.
How do I redeem my SPC discount when shopping in-store?

Just pull out your phone, open the SPC app, and show your digital card to the cashier before you tap to pay. Easy savings.
How do I apply my SPC discount when shopping online?

Log into the app or website, find the brand you're vibing with, and either click our special link or copy the unique promo code to paste at checkout.
Can I stack my SPC discount with other ongoing sales, promo codes, or loyalty programs?

This depends on the brand's rules. Always double-check the specific terms and conditions for each offer in the SPC app or website to see if you can stack the savings.
A store refused to accept my SPC discount. What should I do?

SPC Mobile App (iOS & Android)
Where can I download the SPC app?

You can grab it for free over on the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Just search for Student Price Card!
How do I access my digital card within the app?

Open the app, log into your account, and hit the little card icon on your screen. Your digital card is ready to scan.
Do I need Wi-Fi or cellular data to show my digital card in-store?

Nope! You do not need cellular data or Wi-Fi to view your SPC card in the app, if you were already logged in previously. If you are already logged in, simply opening the app without data or Wi-Fi will allow you to see your digital card so you can show it in-store to get your student discount.
The app is freezing or crashing on my phone. How can I fix this?

Force-close the app, see if there's an update waiting in the app store, or try deleting and reinstalling it. If it's still acting up, email us at questions@spccard.ca.
How do I enable or disable push notifications for limited-time deals?

We drop limited time offers sometimes, but you're in control. You can toggle your notifications on or off right inside the SPC app's profile settings or through your phone's main settings menu.
Troubleshooting & Customer Support
I paid for membership online but haven't received a confirmation email. What do I do?

First, check your spam or junk folder in case it got lost. Still missing? Send an email to questions@spccard.ca with the name and email you used to buy it, and we'll track it down.
I'm getting a 'User Already Exists' error when trying to sign up.

That means you've likely already set up an account with that email in the past! Try logging in, or just hit "Forgot Password" to reset your access and get back in.
How long does it usually take to hear back from customer service?
